DURBAN DEETS
Hailing from South Africa, Christian Mugnai creates pretty sophisticated illustrations that are more reminiscent of New York or LA than downtown Durban.
As he says himself “It’s very hard down here to feed your creative calling. Durban is small and south Africa is only now, in the last couple years, awakening to the rest of the world - at least in my field”
So it’s refreshing to see someone outside the typical cultural and artistic centres forging a name for himself whilst creating incredible work, both for himself and for clients such as Revolution Skateboards and Tiger Beer. Having also been featured in the ‘Culture Kicks’ book, Mugnai is testament that good work shines through, no matter where you’re based.
