Andy Gilmore

We featured Andy Gilmore a good while back in our news section and his latest exhibition has just opened at the Pool Gallery in Berlin.

Running from July 11 – August 22, you should definitely go down and see this masters work if you’re reading this from Berlin. If you’re not in Berlin, it’s as good an excuse as any to get a flight there.

Pool’s summation describes his art perfectly,

“Bright swirling colors, intricately interwoven lines morphing into sleek harmonius forms – the mesmerizing kaleidescopic images of Rochester, New York-based multi-talent Andy Gilmore have a futuristic, almost alien feel to them.

His designs transcend straightforward aesthetic beauty, their forms inhabiting a realm of mathematical complexity, containing a certain geometric musicality.”

Not only is Gilmore’s work very striking, you should also look into his music, project, Dust and Flies, on MySpace - think Lawrence of Arabia meets Cage in a New York basement and you’ve got the gist.
