Since the early Nineties two artists and art lovers from Italy, Costanzo Idini and Antonella Scanu have resided here in Dublin city and have tirelessly supported a myriad of local artists by providing spaces for them to not only show their work, but also to create their work.
It’s no surprise to those who know them well that after turning a huge loft space from near dereliction into a best kept secret called La Catedral, the “Italians” over many years have carved themselves a reputation in the city as both entrepreneurs and respected individuals who love and support the arts. They have stood the course, they did not leave our city when the going got tough, but worked and kept at it and because of this tenacity and energy, they have become invaluable to the great mix our city has become and in turn have become our best friends.
In the coming weeks La Catedral plays host to some interesting events, workshops and exhibitions:
